ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP:


This paid internship provides the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals within a fast-growing energy business and contribute to real projects that are helping shape New Zealand's energy future.


The internship:

  • Runs from approximately mid-November to mid-February.
  • Is a full-time paid role (40 hours per week).
  • Is based in New Plymouth and operates from Hiringa's New Plymouth office.
  • Offers opportunities to work within either our Operations or Engineering teams.
  • Provides exposure to a range of renewable energy and decarbonisation projects.

  • A brief statement (one page maximum) outlining:
  • What you are studying.
  • Your current year of study.
  • Why you are interested in the internship.
  • Your interest in renewable energy and decarbonisation.
  • Why you would like to work with Hiringa.


Requirements

WHO SHOULD APPLY?

  • We are interested in hearing from students who:
  • Whakapapa to Ngāti Tū hapū, Ngāti Manuhiakai hapū or Ngāruahine iwi.
  • Are studying Engineering or a related STEM qualification at a New Zealand university. Are ideally entering or have completed their second or third year of study.
  • Have an interest in renewable energy, sustainability, decarbonisation, or the future energy sector.
  • Are keen to learn, develop their skills, and contribute to meaningful projects.

ABOUT HIRINA

Hiringa is a New Zealand energy company focused on enabling the transition to a low-emissions future. We develop renewable energy solutions that support decarbonisation across transport and industry, including green hydrogen infrastructure and related energy projects.

Hiringa is also the developer of the Kapuni Green Hydrogen Project, which is being developed in partnership with local stakeholders and will play an important role in supporting New Zealand's transition to cleaner energy sourc

Shortlisted applicants will be interviewed, and the successful candidate will be selected based on their demonstrated interest, skills, competencies, and overall fit with the programme. Reference checks will be undertaken prior to any offer of employment.
