The Ringa Āwhina Pou Tū Kūrae (Executive Assistant) is a trusted and integral role within Tui Ora, providing high-level, proactive executive support to the Pou Tū Kūrae (Chief Executive).
A core focus of this role is delivering high-quality governance and board secretariat support to Te Poari (Tui Ora Board) and Te Tuituia Trust. This includes ensuring the effective planning, coordination, and administration of board and committee processes to support strong organisational governance.
You will play a key role in enabling the Pou Tū Kūrae, Ngā Kaiwhakahaere Tōmua (ELT), and Board to operate effectively by managing governance cycles, preparing board documentation, coordinating meetings and strategic hui, and ensuring actions are tracked and delivered.
This is a dynamic and senior-level role requiring someone who is confident working at a governance level, able to anticipate needs, exercise sound judgement, and engage professionally with Board members, Trustees and senior stakeholders.
Alongside governance responsibilities, you will coordinate executive priorities, manage complex schedules and communications, and support organisational initiatives and events.
Success in this role requires professionalism, discretion, initiative, and a strong alignment to kaupapa Māori values and ways of working.

Kia ekena a angitū | To promote success in this role, you will have:
- At least three (3) years experience providing high-level executive support, including direct support to Boards, Trustees, or governance bodies
- Proven experience delivering board and governance secretariat functions
- Demonstrated ability to work confidently with senior leaders and governance members, maintaining professionalism and discretion
- Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
- Strong written communication skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, particularly in formal documentation
- Experience coordinating complex meetings, hui and events, including logistics and stakeholder engagement
- Confidence using Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- The ability to build positive working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
- Sound judgement and the ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion
- A proactive, adaptable, and solutions-focused approach with the ability to anticipate needs
- Understanding of, or willingness to grow knowledge in, tikanga Māori and kaupapa Māori ways of working
- A relevant qualification and/or equivalent experience
- A full, clean New Zealand Driver Licence r equivalent
