We're looking for a motivated team leader who brings out the best in their crew and delivers high‑quality work. You'll be an experienced Water Technician Foreman who takes ownership of critical water network projects and leads a high‑performing field team.


In this role, you'll be the on‑site go‑to person, responsible for planning and delivering the installation of water mains, valves, hydrants, fittings, and associated assets. You'll coordinate plant, labour, and subcontractors to complete works safely, efficiently, and to a consistently high standard.


You'll make sure all works meet design, programme, budget, and regulatory requirements, maintain accurate site documentation, and act as the professional face of the project for clients, landowners, and the public.


Overview

  • Lead from the front and provide on‑the‑job training, mentoring, and direction, building a strong, safety‑first, customer‑focused team culture
  • Carry out and supervise pressure testing and sterilisation of new mains and connections, ensuring full compliance with specifications, National Standards, local authority rules, and Water New Zealand / WaterNZ guidelines
  • Manage daily reports, as‑builts, toolbox talks, and incident records, while confidently handling client and customer queries and keeping stakeholders clearly informed


Requirements

Kei te kimi mātou i tētahi e whai ana i ēnei pūkenga | We're looking for someone with:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in civil works or a similar infrastructure / construction environment
  • Practical skills using hand and power tools, performing groundwork, and reading basic site plans
  • Certified Water Technician with proven EF and butt welding experience, and a strong track record working on water network shut‑downs
  • Full Class 2 driver's licence
  • Current Wheels, Tracks, Rollers endorsements
