Te Puawaitanga o Ngati Ruanui Early Childhood Education (ECE) Centre, based in Hawera, South Taranaki, is seeking an Early Childhood qualified Teacher or Teacher-in-Training to join their dedicated team on a fixed-term basis to provide parental leave cover for one year.  This role supports the delivery of endless intentional learning experiences for our tamariki and their whanau.


We are seeking a team member who brings a warm, positive energy and a genuine commitment to providing high-quality education and care for our precious tamariki.  The ideal candidate will be passionate about early childhood education and committed to building respectful, meaningful relationships with whanau and tamariki.


Overview

Key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Ensuring tamariki are experiencing positive communication, interactions and intentional learning experiences while at our Centre.
  • Complying with all Ministry of Education standards and regulations.
  • Representing Te Puawaitanga ECE in a positive manner within the community.
  • Ensuring all tamariki are kept safe from harm.
  • Acting as an advocate for tamariki within the Centre whanau.
  • Educating tamariki using the Te Whariki Early Childhood curriculum.


Requirements

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Hold a Level 7 ECE qualification with current certification, OR be a second or third year Teacher-in-Training.
  • Have a sound understanding of tikanga Maori and Te Reo, with the ability and confidence to speak basic Reo.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and experience in Te Whariki, Group Curriculum Design, assessment and planning.
  • Hold a current First Aid Certificate.
  • Be passionate and encouraging about our nga tamariki development and learning.
  • Value respectful relationships with whanau, tamariki and Kaiako.

Ngati Ruanui Tahua Limited is a kaupapa Maori whanau ora service provider based in South Taranaki. We offer a holistic approach to healthcare and community wellbeing, through services including primary care, whanau ora, social and education services, kohanga reo and community outreach.
