In this role, you will be essential to ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of our production facilities and assets. You will work closely with the wider Maintenance and Production Operations teams across McKee Mangahewa and Kapuni, focusing on the hands-on execution of planned, routine, and breakdown mechanical maintenance.
It is a varied position where you can apply your technical expertise to support daily operations and broader business targets.
Overview
Other key responsibilities include:
- Beyond day-to-day mechanical repairs, you will play an active part in supporting the wider maintenance lifecycle:
- Partner with our planners and schedulers to build effective work packs, determine resource needs, and ensure the right spare parts are ready before a job begins.
- Supervise on-site contractors, manage the execution of their work packs, perform quality checks, and provide technical troubleshooting support.
- Maintain accurate maintenance histories within our database, ensuring equipment failures, root causes, and remedial actions are clearly documented.
- Keep maintenance procedures up to date, identify opportunities to improve plant efficiency, and assist with implementing approved minor plant modifications.
Requirements
Key requirements for the role:
- At least 5 years of experience in maintenance operations within the oil and gas industry (or a closely related heavy industrial sector).
- A relevant Trade Qualification (NZDE or equivalent is highly advantageous).
- A proven track record of working strictly within structured, formal health, safety, and environmental management processes.
- Strong proficiency in production mechanical maintenance, work planning, plant isolation requirements, and asset management.
