The Recovery Support Worker (RSW) engages with Whānau Whaiora (clients) to support their recovery journeys through person-centred, strengths-based, and culturally grounded practice. Based within a 24/7 residential and community mental health support service, the RSW contributes to recovery by assisting Whānau Whaiora to identify and achieve their wellbeing goals across key areas, including health, cultural identity, financial stability, and community participation. The role facilitates access to resources and services, encourages independence, and upholds the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

Requirements
Kia ekena a angitū | To promote success in this role, you will have:
- National Certificate in Mental Health Level 4 (Mental Health Support work) is essential
- De-escalation training is desirable
- Understanding of mental health and recovery focused support
- Experience working with people with complex needs and challenging behaviours
- Familiarity with the Mental Health Act, Privacy Act, and Code of Rights
- Able to document and report using client management systems and Microsoft Office
- Strong interpersonal, organisational, and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently
- Culturally responsive with understanding of Tikanga Māori
- Demonstrated commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi
- A full, clean NZ Driver Licence.
