Mō te tūranga | About the role:
Join our team as a Pāhake Whaiora: Mental Health Services for Older People (MHSOP) Clinician and make a real difference in the lives of older people across Taranaki. In this role, you’ll provide advanced assessment, clinical care, and coordination for Pāhake experiencing complex mental health, addiction, and cognitive health needs.
Working across community, home, and hospital settings, you’ll deliver holistic, recovery-focused care—supporting everything from assessment and care planning to medication management and crisis response. You’ll work closely with whānau, primary care, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure care is well-coordinated, culturally responsive, and centred on better outcomes for Pāhake and their whānau.

Requirements
Kia ekena a angitū | To promote success in this role, you will have:
- A Registered Nurse with a current annual practicing certificate and registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand
- Comprehensive nursing experience, with demonstrated practice in mental health services
- Experience working with older people and/or complex mental health presentations is desirable
- Strong skills in mental health assessment, intervention, and recovery-focused practice
- The ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and alongside whānau and community providers
- Sound knowledge of relevant mental health legislation, clinical tools, and practice standards
- Excellent communication, organisation, and relationship-building skills
- An understanding of Māori health perspectives and a commitment to culturally responsive practice
- A full, clean New Zealand driver licence
