Mātanga are champions of Whānau Ora–centred care, providing culturally appropriate pastoral support and advocacy for Taiohi, their whānau, and kaimahi. The role involves leading, advising, and representing aspects of Te Ao Māori and tikanga Māori within Oranga Hinengaro services supporting whānau and kaimahi to access culturally responsive care, healing, and recovery pathways.

Requirements
Kia ekena a angitū | To promote success in this role, you will have:
- At least two years’ experience providing cultural pastoral support
- A practical understanding of the aspirations and challenges facing Māori communities
- Experience in applying tikanga Māori in a professional setting desirable
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to successfully use computer systems, including Microsoft Word and Excel; familiarity with client management systems preferred
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage tasks independently
- High level of integrity, reliability, attention to detail, and ability to manage sensitive/confidential information
- Demonstrated commitment to cultural responsiveness, Whānau Ora principles, and values-led practice
- A full, clean NZ Driver Licence.
