This is a rare opportunity to join our high-performing Enterprise Support team as part of a joint initiative between Te Puna Umanga Venture Taranaki, He Toronga Pakihi ki Taranaki and Te Kotahitanga o Te Atiawa.
This is a part time 20 hours per week, fixed-term role until end June 2027.
Are you a dynamic and skilled advisor with a passion for kaupapa Māori innovation and entrepreneurship? Te Puna Umanga Venture Taranaki is seeking a talented and experienced individual to join our Enterprise Support team, working within He Toronga Pakihi ki Taranaki (The Taranaki Māori Business Network) and reporting directly to the Pouwhakahaere.
Te Puna Umanga Venture Taranaki is at the forefront of economic development and entrepreneurship initiatives, and our Enterprise Support team plays a pivotal role in supporting local businesses to start, grow, and innovate.
As a key member of both Te Puna Umanga Venture Taranaki and He Toronga Pakihi ki Taranaki teams, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to the success of both organisations and the region by building trusted, kanohi ki te kanohi relationships with Māori business owners, including start-up and fledgling businesses.
Specifically, this role will develop a kaupapa Māori model of business capability support and have a broader remit to advise and support businesses at all stages with a range of tools and programmes including the Regional Business Partner Network (RBP) Management Capability Development Fund.

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako / Skills and experience:
- Education and Experience: Experience in client-facing business support roles with supporting qualifications.
- Cultural Skills: Applies a sound understanding of tikanga Māori, enabling respectful engagement with whānau, hapū and iwi, and observance of tikanga and kawa.
- Communication Skills: Is confident communicating clearly and persuasively to a range of audiences and has some confidence in the use of te reo Māori.
- Strategic Thinking: Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the Taranaki Māori economy within regional, national, and international contexts and understands the strategic goals of the core stakeholders and what these mean at an operational level.
- Organisational Skills: Highly organised, adaptable, proactive, and focused on continuous improvement.
You will be an experienced business professional with a client-centric approach to business growth and development. You will have empathy with, and insight into, Māori aspirations for economic development, including whānau-led enterprise and intergenerational outcomes. You will be able to apply a sound understanding of tikanga Māori, enabling respectful engagement with whānau, hapū, and iwi, observance of kawa, and have some confidence in the use of te reo Māori.
