Mō te tūranga | About the role:


The Co-Existing Problems Clinician provides recovery-oriented, community-based assessment and therapeutic support to adult Whānau Whaiora experiencing co-existing mental health and alcohol and/or other drug challenges. Working as a Mental Health keyworker within a multidisciplinary team, the role focuses on delivering integrated, whānau-centred care through collaboration with whānau and key stakeholders to support positive Whānau Ora outcomes.

Requirements

Kia ekena a angitū | To promote success in this role, you will have:

  • A recognised clinical qualification, Registered Nurse or Allied Health, with current Annual Practising Certificate (or registration under the HPCA Act 2003)
  • Proven experience working with adults experiencing co-existing mental health and alcohol and/or other drug challenges
  • Strong skills in recovery-oriented, strengths-based assessment, treatment, and care planning
  • Experience working as a Mental Health keyworker within a multidisciplinary team and across primary and secondary services
  • Confidence in community-based clinical work, including risk assessment, relapse prevention, and discharge planning with Recovery Focus.
  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, clinical standards, and evidence-based best practice
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships with whānau, colleagues, and stakeholders
  • A clear commitment to Whānau Ora outcomes and whānau-centred models of care
  • Demonstrated understanding of Te Ao Māori, tikanga Māori, and the aspirations of Māori communities
  • Strong organisation, time management, and reporting skills, including clinical documentation and data systems
  • Integrity, professionalism, and the ability to manage sensitive and confidential information
  • A full, clean New Zealand driver licence and willingness to work across Taranaki
