Mō te tūranga | About the role:
As a Kaimahi Taiohi with Tui Ora, you’ll walk alongside young people aged 16–19 to support them in building positive futures. You’ll provide intensive, wrap-around support for taiohi receiving Youth or Young Parent Payments, or those not in education, employment, or training (NEET). Through culturally responsive and strengths-based practice, you’ll help taiohi set goals, overcome barriers, and connect with education, training, or employment opportunities — empowering them and their whānau to thrive.

Requirements
Kia ekena a angitū | To promote success in this role, you will have:
- A relevant Youth Work qualification (or equivalent experience).
- At least two years’ experience working with at-risk or vulnerable taiohi in community or youth development settings.
- A strong understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing taiohi and whānau in Aotearoa today.
- A culturally responsive approach, with knowledge and practical application of tikanga Māori, and experience engaging effectively with diverse communities.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills to connect with taiohi, whānau, and external agencies.
- The ability to apply strengths-based, youth-centred, and goal-focused practice to empower taiohi towards positive futures.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage a caseload and meet performance expectations.
- Competence using Client Management Systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- High levels of integrity, professionalism, and the ability to maintain confidentiality and clear boundaries.
- A proactive, self-driven attitude and a collaborative approach to working within a team and across services.
- A full, clean NZ Driver Licence.
