Kia ekena a angitū | To promote success in this role, you will have:
- Personal Experience with Mental Health and or Addiction challenges is essential
- Lived Experience of Mental Health concerns that resulted in receiving psychiatrist level of care
- An established Recovery Plan, with ongoing wellbeing strategies
- Advocacy/peer support training or similar is preferred e.g. New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Social and Community Services) (Level 4) with strand in Mental Health and Addiction Support
- Experience and be comfortable promoting mental wellness on an individual and at a community level
- The ability to demonstrate a commitment to ongoing training and development
- The ability to practice in a recovery and strengths-focused way
- Well-developed written and oral communication skills
- Proficient skills using a computer and preferably experience using client management systems.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and able to work as part of a team
- Excellent organisation skills and able to take responsibility for completion of tasks
- A strong work ethic, demonstrated by a high level of integrity, reliability, efficiency, and self-management
- Excellent attention to detail
- The ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
- The ability to demonstrate practical understanding of the aspirations and challenges facing Māori communities
- Experience in applying tikanga Māori as it applies in the role (desirable)
- A full, clean NZ Driver Licence.
