The Nau Mai Coordinator is responsible for developing and maintaining a vibrant, uplifting, and safe space which
provides a high level of manaakitanga to ensure whānau have the best experience when welcomed to Tui Ora. This role holds the nau mai space for whānau, kanohi-ki-te-kanohi, over the phone and via email. The Nau Mai Coordinator is integral to ensuring whānau experience consistently y high quality and professional service when they seek out our services or are referred by other organisations.
This role will include activities specific to three key nau mai spaces across Tui Ora: Te Whaitua Whānau, Hauora ā-Whānau (Family Health primary care practice) and Oranga Hinengaro services. Kaimahi in these roles will work as a team across all three nau mai spaces in Ngāmotu.
Overview
Be the face of Tui Ora welcoming whānau and manuhiri, in a respectful, friendly and professional manner.
- Handle all Tui Ora external phone calls and emails:
- Answer incoming phone calls promptly and professionally as the
- primary point of contact for whānau and community
- Provide information regarding services, referrals, and general
- inquiries while ensuring a positive experience
- Process referral requests, ensuring whānau are efficiently and safely navigated to the right services and are well-communicated with throughout the process.
- Facilitate support for whānau and manuhiri presenting to Tui Ora, including processing of information, self-referrals and other services requests.
Requirements
Kia ekena a angitū | To promote success in this role, you will have
- Customer service, Whānau Ora, health administration or other relevant experience preferred
- Proven experience of being Whānau focused that includes a calm, unflappable personality and unfazed by challenging situations
- A strong work ethic, demonstration by a high level of integrity, reliability, efficiency and self-management
- Previous experience in working with health and social service clients and their whānau is preferred
- A strong commitment to excellent whānau-centered care
- Proven experience of being highly adaptable
- Proven experience of being approachable, empathetic and strong ability to support whānau with varying health and social support needs
- The ability to handle sensitive and confidential information and can be discreet in interactions with whānau
- Good communication skills
- Excellent organisational skills and able to take responsibility for completion of tasks
- The ability to demonstrate practical understanding of the aspirations and challenges facing Māori communities
- Experience in applying tikanga Māori as it applies in the role (desirable)
- A full, clean NZ Driver Licence.
