Requirements

Kia ekena a angitū | To promote success in this role, you will have


  • Current accreditation as International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC)
  • Adult Education experience and qualification, preferred
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in breastfeeding support
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Strong knowledge of local maternity and community health services
  • Skill in adult education and delivering group sessions
  • Effective communicator, both written and verbal
  • Knowledge of Māori health models and Te Tiriti o Waitangi and culturally responsive
  • Experience and confident using Microsoft Office and client management systems
  • Experience building strong professional relationships and works collaboratively
  • Sound decision-making skills, a critical thinker and have risk awareness
  • Empathy, be trustworthy, and community-focused
  • Demonstrated understanding of tikanga Māori and commitment to Te Reo me ngā Tikanga Māori
  • A full, clean NZ Driver Licence.
