The Taranaki/Whanganui Conservation Board is a statutory body established under the Conservation Act 1987 whose jurisdiction includes Te Papa-Kura-o-Taranaki. The Board’s function is to recommend the approval of conservation management strategies and conservation management plans, along with  advising on the implementation of such strategies and plans.

 

Overview

There is one appointment available, and the successful appointee will take effect from 1 July 2025 for a term of three years.

Requirements

We are looking for applicants who are uri of our eight Taranaki iwi and experienced governors with outstanding personal qualities, sound knowledge and understanding of local government and public sector legislation, and reporting and accountability processes. You will also have experience working with diverse communities within a high-profile public context.
